Summer Goals

Hi All,
This is Mason Bradbury from the Shawnee faction. I hope all of the projects are beginning well! My goals are as follows:

  • production - grow and distribute lots of healthy food
  • education - share my experiences with, and learn from the experiences of, community members with whom we're working
  • continuation - garner community support and ownership and set the foundation for the garden to continue without Americorps*VISTA involvement.

  1. My name is Autumn Partlow and I'm working this summer alongside an organization called Harvest of Hope. My goals for this summer include the following: 1. Soaking in as much knowledge as I can from Karen Kumpfh, who is the founder of HOH. I finally got to meet her yesterday and just from spending a few hours with her it was clear to me that I have so much to learn from her on a lot of different fronts. 2. Giving each task that I'm given my best effort. It seems like this summer I'm going to be working on a lot of different projects, so my focus is going to be somewhat scattered. In light of this, my plan is to just working hard on whichever task that is put in front of me. 3. Developing relationships with people who are working to eradicate food insecurity in my community and also with those who are experiencing food insecurity in my community. 4. Get a better idea of if working for a nonprofit whose primary concern is food insecurity would be something that I would want to do upon graduating.
